Created in Hollywood to give actors perfect on-screen smiles, veneers are thin layers that fit over the outside of your existing teeth. They can be used to solve a myriad of cosmetic problems, such as discolored, broken/chipped teeth, and large gaps between teeth. Veneers are easy to care for and some can be attached in less time and with fewer appointments than it takes to prepare crowns or implants. If you are a candidate for veneers, you have a few options to choose from: Porcelain, Composite, and No-Prep.
Porcelain Veneers- For traditional porcelain veneers, Dr. Marcano will prepare your teeth for the added thickness of the dental veneers by shaving off a small layer of the tooth structure. The amount of tooth preparation necessary varies from case to case. An impression of your prepared teeth will be sent to a dental lab where technicians will customize your porcelain veneers to fit your smile. The porcelain reflects light like natural tooth enamel and resists stains to deliver long-lasting beauty.
Composite Veneers- For composite veneers, Dr. Marcano will prepare your teeth in the same fashion he would for porcelain veneers but the difference lies in the fabrication. Instead of taking an impression and sending it to a dental lab to be handmade there, Dr. Marcano hand sculpts each individual veneer with a composite material. This gives Dr. Marcano the artistic freedom to customize each individual veneer specific to your unique smile.
No-Prep Veneers- No-Prep Veneers are often less invasive with little to no tooth structure removed. No-Prep veneers offer the same aesthetic benefits as Porcelain and Composite Veneers with the additional convenience of often being reversable. Not everyone is a candidate for this procedure. Be sure to call the office to schedule a consultation and have Dr. Marcano assess your smile.
